materials & assembly

Materials & Assembly is a class taken in the spring of my second year as an architecture student. In this class, I learned about how different construction assemblies come together, and all the different materials you could possibly use in construction. I also learned how to create technical construction drawings. Each assignment dealt with a different aspect of materials and assemblies.

Assignment 1: After given a section cut that we had to make a 3-D model of, these drawings represent an assembled and exploded assembly of the model

Assignment 2: Given a 3D model of an existing building, the assignment was to take that building and redesign the egress to be up to proper code.

Assignment 3: Given construction documentation and pictures of the final building, we had to determine the wood framing design.

Using our recent studio project (East Liberty Office), we were to do a code analysis and exploded axonometric structural drawing
