eco machine housing
This project creates an affordable and maintainable housing community for residents of Sharpsburg. My cohousing housing complex will hopefully encourage people to stay in the neighborhood of Sharpsburg and/or Morningside. The form of the entire complex will come from social, urban, cultural, and site context from surrounding Sharpsburg & Morningside. Intersections of these lines determine housing locations. Individual housing units sit on hills that protect it from the rising flood waters of the Allegheny River. The algae skin is derived from a carbon dioxide map of the surrounding area. The skin consists of capsules, as well as clear tubes that bring water from the river, through the system, and then back into the river - hopefully carrying algae with it.
