The objective of this studio was to create a high rise housing building in the community of East Liberty, in Pittsburgh PA. Just like a real project, our professor acted as a PM with all the group members as architects of a firm who had to work together. The semester started with concept research and site analysis, with a goal of reaching Design Development by the end of the semester. Our concept revolves around the idea of campfire - the fact that food brings people together. Our retail podium holds 4 retail spaces, including a restaurant with its own rooftop garden. The entrances leading into the central courtyard have enough opportunity for food trucks and other local businesses to thrive. Additionally, our project has the potential to reach LEED Gold status, as desired by our client. Other Group members included Shirley Chen, Jacky Tian, & Alvin Wong
